How much does a website for tax advisors cost? Prices and cost factors 2026

Key points at a glance

  • A professional firm website from an agency usually costs between €1,500 and €6,000, depending on the number of pages, copy and features.
  • The biggest cost drivers are specialty and audience pages, professional copywriting and a careers page.
  • Ongoing costs are hosting, maintenance and domain, usually between €30 and €100 per month.
  • A cheap website-builder site saves money at the start but often costs visibility on Google.

Anyone planning a new firm website receives very different quotes: from a website builder for €15 a month to an agency for €15,000. The range is so wide because the word “website” covers completely different services. In this guide we explain what the costs depend on, which items are added on an ongoing basis and what firms should look out for in quotes.

Price ranges: what firm websites typically cost

The following figures are guide values for professionally built WordPress websites. They show the typical order of magnitude for projects for tax firms.

  • Small firm website (up to 5 pages): approx. €1,500 to €2,500. Home page, services, team, contact and mandatory pages.
  • Firm website with specialties (8 to 15 pages): approx. €3,000 to €5,000. Dedicated pages for advisory specialties and target groups, careers page, Local SEO.
  • Larger firm or several locations: from approx. €6,000. Location pages, guides section, several languages or extensive recruiting.

At WPressProfis we work with fixed prices: Starter from €1,490, Business from €2,990 and Growth from €5,990. What the packages include is listed on our pricing page.

These factors determine the price

Number and type of pages

Every advisory specialty page, e.g. on payroll accounting, annual financial statements or business succession, needs its own content. But it is precisely these pages that bring the clients you are looking for: anyone googling “tax advisor business succession Munich” should land on a matching page, not on the home page.

Copywriting

Good copy is often the largest single item for firms, because it must be professionally correct, understandable and compliant with professional law. If you write it yourself, you save money but invest time that is rarely available. Within a website project we charge €60 per page; professional approval stays with you. More under Content & Copywriting.

Features

Online booking for initial consultations, links to the client portal, secure upload solutions or an application form slightly increase the effort but save your team time every day.

Photos

Real team photos look much more trustworthy than stock images. Half a day with a photographer usually costs a few hundred euros depending on the region and can also be used for the careers page and social media.

Ongoing costs

After launch there are regular costs that you should take into account in your planning:

  • Domain: a few euros per month.
  • Hosting: approx. €10 to €30 per month for a fast, secure firm website.
  • Maintenance: updates, backups and security monitoring. With us, maintenance & hosting is available from €30 per month.
  • Optional: booking software, ongoing SEO support or new guide articles.

Website builder, freelancer or agency?

A website builder is cheap and fast, but concept, copy and search engine optimization remain with you. For a firm that wants to win specific clients, that is rarely enough. Freelancers are often cheaper than agencies but don’t always cover design, copy, SEO and technology together. An agency costs more but delivers a coordinated overall package with a dedicated contact.

What matters is less the price than whether the website will bring in enquiries later. A website that isn’t found on Google is too expensive even at €500.

Costs in Austria and Switzerland

In Austria, prices for firm websites are of a similar order of magnitude as in Germany. Pay attention to the right terms there, such as “Lohnverrechnung” instead of “Lohnbuchhaltung”, and to a legal notice in line with Austrian requirements.

In Switzerland, agency prices are usually higher. Fiduciary firms should check in quotes whether the copy is geared towards Swiss search terms such as “Treuhand”. Our fixed prices also apply to firms in Austria and Switzerland and are invoiced in euros. As a guide, the Business package currently corresponds to approx. CHF 2,800.

What to look out for in quotes

  • Is a fixed price stated or is billing based on effort?
  • Are copy, photos and mandatory pages included?
  • Is the page structure planned on the basis of real search queries?
  • Can you change copy and job ads yourself later?
  • What do hosting and maintenance cost after launch?
